Mount Si

takes on Newport and Interlake

Last Thursday evening the Mount Si gymnastics team competed

against the defending state champion Newport Knights and the Interlake Saints.

Only seven girls were able to go into the competition, but the `Cats did a

good job overall.

Three members of the team competed in new events. Ashley

Krapie had a great bar routine, while Courtney Shuler competed on floor with a

brand new routine. Crystal Miller turned in a great score on vault in her first

meet of the year; Nicole Hausreit added to the team score with her beam

routine, and Lindsey Lefler had great scores on both vault and floor.

Mount Si placed two people in the final standings. Lindsay Ray

took sixth place on bars, while Nikke Belt took sixth in beam, sixth on floor

and fifth place all-around.

The next meet is this Thursday night, when the Wildcats take to

the floor against Mercer Island and Newport.
