On the beam

In the first meet of the New Year, on Thursday, Jan. 6, the Mount Si

and Liberty High School gymnastics teams paid a visit to

Issaquah. Issaquah dominated the competition and won the event with a team

score of 172.2. The Patriots placed second with 152.95, while the `Cats came

in third with 139.2.

Coach Renee Tredo rated the team's overall performance as

"great," adding, "Ashley Kraupie and

Christine Bauman did their kips for the first time ever in a meet. Jolynn

Rodriguez did a great bar routine for the last

time for Mount Si.

"On floor, Crystal Miller competed with a brand new routine

and did totally awesome. Nicole Haustvert, Cortney Schuller and

Lindsay Loeffler all put on a terrific show on the floor. All of them earned a

new personal best."

In the final standings, Lindsay Ray placed fourth on the beam,

while Yolanda Morton turned in a solid performance for fourth in vault. Ray

finished sixth overall.

"As a whole team they earned a 139.2, which is way above

expectations for this team," said Tredo.

"The Mount Si gymnastics team is on their way to the top."
