SNOQUALMIE- Mount Si High School girls' golf coach Mike Johnston hopes his team will see better days in the upcoming season as it tries to reverse its disappointing 0-9 record from last year.

"This year we are still a young team, but I think we will surprise some teams and our goal should be to finish with at least a 5-4 record," Johnston said.

Returning to the team this year are veteran letter winners Jessie Potter, Stacy Shultz, Nicole Velotta and Kristina Weder. Also returning are Jessica Avery, who was a district qualifier, Rochelle Krona, Chelsea Tame and Deannan Turner. New to the team are Erica Jepson, Rachel Keinath, Jess Sanford, and Alex Reese.

The team's first match is against Mercer Island on March 15 at the Carnation Golf Course.
