CKMS strong in basketball
Chief Kanim 8th-grade boys' played Snoqualmie Middle School Thursday in an especially defensive game that left both teams battling hard for the win. Chief Kanim got off to a great start in the first quarter when they led 12-2, and led the half-time score as well, 33-22. They had a little more competition when Snoqualmie tied the score with three minutes left to go in the game, but were able to pull ahead and win 53-48.
Chief Kanim's Eric Tierney led the game with 21 points, Josh Griffith had 11, Marc Donell had seven, Logan McMackin and Isaiah Wallwhastia each had six and Jimmy Henrie and Brady Barry had two points each. Blaine Sutton, Steven Grace, John Clegg, Jim Lundon and Brandi Cason were scoreless. Cason, however, had six rebounds, and McMackin and Griffith led with nine and five rebounds respectively.
Soccer team undefeated
The Chief Kanim girls' soccer team won their third game of the season Thursday against Keithley Middle School with a score of 7-1. Coach Mark Tucker said the team played great. Kate Little was the leading scorer with three goals. Ashley Holmes had two goals, and Michelle Luckes and Krisi Lund had one goal each. The team plays Thunder Mountain on March 7, and Mann on March 12.
