SNOQUALMIE VALLEY - The Mount Si boys' tennis program is beginning a new era this fall, with 11-year Valley resident and 33-year tennis veteran Gary Olson taking over the reins from former head coach Sue Gallacher.

Olson is coaching as a way of helping his children's school. "[I] actually have two children at Mount Si right now: one that's already graduated, one in middle school and one in elementary school, and I always thought it would be fun to coach tennis at the high school level," he said.

Olson inherits a team that finished second to last in the conference in 2001. He will focus on players' development to improve the overall competitiveness of his team.
