Wildcat girls soccer team looks to return to playoffs
October 2, 2008 · Updated 9:04 PM
SNOQUALMIE VALLEY - The Mount Si Wildcats girls' soccer team is looking to get back to the good days of only a few years ago. With a veteran group, this team has an excellent shot to finish in the top of the pack and contend for a playoff berth.
The experience extends to the coaching, with Bruce Caldwell returning for a 13th season as head coach of the team, one of the longest current stints in the conference. Glenn Cramer and Bev Jorgensen will assist Caldwell this fall, and all three will coach a team loaded with great returning talent.
Leading the pack is junior forward Kristen Berndt, a first-team selection in the KingCo 3A conference in 2001, and seniors Angela Jones, Callan Gaston and Jessica Hanna, who all have been playing at the varsity level since their freshman years in 1999.
Junior midfielder Whitney Cheldren, a conference second-team selection in 2001, also returns. Seniors Nicola Skinner and Jessica Lentgis lead a talented bunch of new players.
