Special Olympic runners excels

Woodland Park was the site for the Western Washington Youth Junior Olympics Cross Country Championships on Nov. 15. In the 11- and 12-year-old boy's 3K division, North Bend resident Max MeDevitt placed 23rd with a time of 13:18. He helped his Issaquah Gliders team to a fourth-place finish. Colin Falconer of Chief Kanim Middle School and Drake daPonte of Snoqualmie Middle School ran with the Gliders' 13- and 14-year-old team to a third-place finish. In the 4K course daPonte finished in 15:24 for ninth place, and Falconer's time of 16:14 was good for 23rd.
