'Cats host Newport

The Mount Si gymnastics team hosted Newport last week in Kingco 3A gymnastics action. They came away with a team loss with Newport scoring 153.1 to the Wildcats' 116.75, but had several impressive outings. All-around, Casey Stinnett took seventh with a score of 25.2, followed by Sam Baldwin with 17.850, Sarah Lewis with 17.6 and Merritt Kott with 15.2. On the vault, Jill Buck placed sixth with a score of 7.3, followed by Stinnett with a score of 7.2. On the bars, Stinnett took eighth with a score of 5.9, followed by Danielle Carlson who scored a 5.8.

On the beam, Merritt Kott placed fifth with a score of 7.5 followed by Lewis in ninth with a score of 5.75. Finally, on the floor, Kott took third with a score of 7.7, followed by Liana Felt who took seventh with a score of 6.6 and Stinnett who took ninth with a score of 6.4

Rounding out the all-around scores were Julie Carroll with a 14.75, Felt with a 13.6, Buck with a 12.1, Carlson with a 8.6, Krista Tollefson with a 5.8, Christina Johnson with a 5.5, Erika Jenson with a score of 5.1, Tiera Welsh with a score of 5.0, Whitney Eand with a score of 4.7, Holly Borrof with a score of 4.1, Katriana Sasynuik with a score of 4.1 and Courtney Rambo with a score of 3.8.
