'Cats notch second league win

Mount Si recorded its second team win of the season in gymnastics last week after defeating the Interlake Saints 145-112.45. Leading the effort for Mount Si once again was Piper Sherbon who placed first in the bars, first in the vault, first on the floor and third on the beam for an overall score of 32.11, another first.

Sarah Lewis had a tremendous day finishing fourth overall with a score of 27.2. She also took third on the bars, fifth on the vault, eight on the beam and second on the floor.

Following Lewis was Alisha Fischer who took fifth overall. She placed fifth on the bars, eighth on the vault, twelfth on the beam and twelfth on the floor.

Merritt Kott placed seventh overall taking first on the beam, second on the vault and fifth on the floor despite a stumble on a flip.

Behind Kott was Casey Stinnett who took eighth overall with a sixth on the beam, seventh on the bars and sixth on the floor. Stinnett's beam performance was nearly flawless.

Sam Baldwin and Danielle Carlson took ninth and 10th respectively in overall scores. Baldwin placed sixth on the vault, ninth on the floor and 10th on the beam. Danielle Carlson placed seventh on the vault, seventh on the bars and eleventh on the beam.

Liana Felt had an impressive outing with an eleventh place overall. She took fourth on the fault, and sixth on the floor. Megan Carlson and Erika Jensen came in at 12th and 13th respectively. Megan took third on the vault with Jensen taking 12th. Megan also took second on the bars with Jensen taking ninth.

Mount Si has one more meet at Mercer Island before competing in the district meet to be held at Mount Si on Feb. 7.
