Mount Si grapplers trounce Liberty

RENTON - The Mount Si wrestling team trounced league rival Liberty last week 49-29. At 103 pounds, the Wildcats' Kyle Heath pinned Luke Hansen at the 5:00 mark of the third round. Teammate Jacob Lund fell to Daniel Hanks at 112 pounds, 18-2. Joe Taklo pinned the Patriots' Ryan Boser at the 2:42 mark of the second round in the 119-pound class. Teammate Mike Montgomery followed suit at 125 pounds, pinning Weston Murch, 53 seconds into the first round.
The Wildcats Dan Wright was pinned by Liberty's Peter Miller at 130 pounds at the 3:52 mark of the second round. Jordan Sypher avenged his teammates loss at 135 pounds by pinning Brian Gannon at the 4:37 mark of the third round. The Wildcats' Jay Dochnahl won by decision 10-8 over the Patriots' Chris Charles. The Patriots' Tim Damon pinned the Wildcats Tyler O'Brien at the 3:02 mark in the second round to win the 145 pound class. MacDonnell pinned the Patriots' Adam Bailey at the 5:25 mark in the third round. Derreck Hannaman followed suit at 160 pounds by pinning the Patriots' Josh Munoz with one second left in the match.
Pano Dreves won by major decision over the Patriots' Kenny Gunderson at 171 pounds, 14-5. Jeff Lewis fell to the Patriot's' Crue Woodard by pin, 1:20 into the first round. Dex Moetulu pinned the Patriots' Taylor Hart at the 2:40 mark of the second round in the 215-pound class and teammate Trevor Moore pinned the Patriots' Brian Dosch at the 1:17 mark of the first round.
