The Mount Si girls' basketball team faced a pretty stern test in an excellent Skyline Spartans team Jan. 29. While the Wildcats played well on defense, Mount Si's offense struggled against an equally tough Spartan defense, and that allowed Skyline to pull away in the second half and assert control of second place in Kingco 3A.

Madison Maloney scored 18 points as the Spartans rolled, 64-45. "I just feel that we are a team that when we play tough defense we wear on teams by the end of the third and into the fourth quarter and it's hard for their really good players to carry a lot of the load and I could see we started to wear on them, so we did step it up and we had three people in double figures, so that really helps," said Skyline coach C.J. Sealey.
