October 2, 2008 · Updated 7:35 PM
The Mount Si girls' tennis team opened their season March 13 at home against Bothell and despite the lack of practice time on the court, the Wildcats got it done.
Mount Si won seven of nine matches played against the Bothell Cougars in a nonleague match. In singles action, Erika Strine, Kelsey Wise, Mariana Zanella, Rachel Brun and Carly Olson all posted victories over their Bothell opponents. Brun's victory was the most exciting, a three set, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, thriller. The lone singles loss was by Vivian Yang; the Mount Si player fell to the Cougars' Brittni Adams 6-7, 1-6.
Brun was pleased with her performance. "It was my first match and it felt really good. I was really consistent and I kept momentum throughout all three matches," Brun said.
