Eastside Football Club’s G98 Red team earned a trip to compete at the 2014 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships, finishing at the top of their girls under-15 bracket. The national championships start Tuesday, July 22, in Germantown, Md. It’s the first trip to the nationals for any Washington girls’ team since 1996. The Red team is also guaranteed a spot in the National League next year.

The team is made up entirely of freshmen girls, coached by Tom Bialek.

Natalie Weidenbach, a Mount Si freshman and varsity girls soccer player, is starting center defensive back and co-captain.
