Large number of teams compete in 3-on-3 competitions second year Hot hoopsters hit the Ridge
The second annual Snoqualmie Casino 3-on-3 basketball tournament, held July 19 and 20 on Snoqualmie Ridge, was a big success.
A total of 98 teams entered the competition this year in various age groups, up from 77 in the events inaugural year of 2007.
There were a total of 15 division champions this year. Those teams included: Cloud Nine in the mens competitive 19-29 bracket; Last Minute in the mens 19-29 recreational division; Hustle & Flow in the mens 30 and over recreational; Snoqualmie Casino in the mens masters; Wildcats in the high school boys; Game Over in the high school girls; Lost Boys in the boys intermediate 13 and under A; Eastside in the boys intermediate 13 and under B; ECBA Swish in the girls intermediate 13 and under; Skills 2 in the boys 12 and under intermediate; Hoopsters in the girls 12 and under intermediate; Blues in the elementary boys 11 and under A; Knuckleheads in the elementary boys 11 and under B, Somethin Fierce in the girls elementary 11 and under, and Swoosh in the elementary boys 9 and under.
There were also a number of runners-up. Among those teams were the Pu Maccs in the mens 19-29 recreational, the Pops with Hops in the mens masters; Suns and Eastside III in the boys 13 and under intermediates; Fireballs and MJs in the boys 11 and under intermediates; Bruins in the high school boys and Wildcat Ballers in the high school girls.
Games were played in beautiful weather conditions throughout the weekend on the streets in front of Snoqualmie Community Park on the Ridge. Event promoters expect to bring the tournament back in the summer of 2009.
