The Mount Si Wildcats, an eighth-grade select girls basketball team, finished their season with a 22-4 record and a second place showing at the Puget Sound Travel League Championship Tournament on Sunday, March 10.
They came up short against undefeated Skyline in the championship game with a 29-50 final, but played a great tournament. After finishing third in the league in the regular season behind Skyline and Eastlake (their only two league losses), the Wildcats were placed in the Gold Division bracket for the tournament which featured the top eight teams in the league. Their first game was against sixth place Bellevue on Saturday and they beat them 51-43. Their next game against second place Eastlake was a defensive battle with the Wildcats beating them 33-24 in this second meeting.
The Wildcats are coached by Aaron Colby.
