Tolt girls basketball team beats Chief Kanim in season opener

Chief Kanim Middle School's seventh and eighth grade girls varsity basketball teams opened their season Wednesday, Nov. 28, with two intense games against Tolt.

The Tolt opponents ended up winning, but coaches Chris Blake and Gina Estep were pleased with both teams' effort and hustle.

At eighth grade, Chief Kanim's Ellie Bruce had 15 points and 10 rebounds; Abby Kuyakendal  had four points and six rebounds; and Regan and Reese Baltasar, Greta Chappell and Cara Payne each scored two points apiece.

For seventh grade, Mackenzie Smith had three points and Hattie McFadden and Jessica Perez each had two points.
