also grabbed second in the 300 low hurdles with a time of 52.94.
Mount Si girls relay runners dominated, winning both the 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 races. Symone Shaw, Woolsey, McLain, Hasbun, and Natalie Opsvig were on one or both of those winning efforts. The Wildcat girls 4-by-400 foursome of the Robbins sisters, Marley and Taylor, along with Megan Past and Dannah Parsons, finished second in their relay.
There were a lot of solid efforts in throwing and jumping events, as well. Mount Si swept the top four spots in the javelin, led by the 97 foot, 3 inch winning throw of Emily Ferree. Stephanie Burk won the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 2 inches. Diane Keller and Wendy Hecker finished tied for second in that competition.
Shaw dominated in the triple and long jumps, winning both. Hasbun finished second in the long jump, while Burk finished third in the long jump.
Mount Si is home for their final meet of the regular season Thursday, May 1, against Cedarcrest and Mercer Island. Things get underway at 4 p.m., and McLaughlin says fans are in for a treat. Definitely with it being our last meet of the season, I know everybodys just going to go all out and perform our best, he said. Cedarcrest and Mercer Island are sort of our rivals, so nobodys going to want to lose.
Wildcats test their skills in big out-of-town meets
Mount Sis teams traveled last Saturday, April 26, to two big meets. The boys went to the Shoreline Invitational, while the girls went to Shelton for their invitational meet.
Strong performances at Shoreline came from McLaughlin, who finished fifth in the 400-meter finals with a time of 50.36, and the Wildcat boys distance medley relay team, who finished second with a time of 10:57.49. In Shelton, it was a big day for Woolsey, who finished fifth in the 200 meter finals, with a time of 27.04. Keller also had a nice day in the 100 high hurdle finals, where she finished fourth. Hasbun also finished strong, with a seventh in the 100-meter finals. Two of Mount Sis relay teams, the 4-by-100 meter and the distance medley, both finished third in their respective events.
