Mount Si baseball alumnus Max Brown was chosen to join the first ever New Zealand baseball team, The DiamondBlacks.

Brown currently attends Bellevue College and plays for their team.  He played center field for Mount Si High Schools, Wildcats and was instrumental in helping them win the 2010 State Championship.

According to Bellevue College, Brown was recently named to the provisional roster for the New Zealand National Team which will try to qualify for the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March.

At the Classic, Brown will be playing alongside and against many major league players he has grown up watching.

The WBC is similar in nature to the Olympics, which feature the top players, professional or amateur, who represent their home country.

Past players in the World Baseball Classic include Ichiro, Derek Jeter, Felix Hernandez among many other prominent Major Leaguers.

On their website, Belleuve provides a link to the details on the team and it's qualifying process. Brown's games will be streamed live at worldbaseballclassic.com
