Mount Si volleyball on a roll going into KingCo tourney

The Mount Si High School varsity volleyball team continues its strong roll into KingCo.

Last week, the team took two series to its credit, first beating Sammamish handily, 25-6, 25-12, 25-16, on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Highlighted performances of the Totems game included Genevieve Knoppi with five aces and seven digs Lexie Read  with a kill and three aces, Liz Larson with two kills and two aces, Anna McCreadie with six kills, three aces and five digs, Lindsay Carr with six kills and six digs and Lauren Smith had a kill, 13 assists and five aces.

Then, Mount Si  beat Lake Washington on the road on Thursday, Oct. 11, 25-23, 25-21, 25-17.

Haley Groth had a kill, a dig and two blocks, Rachel Hayford had an assist and 11 digs,  Read had five kills, 11 digs and two blocks, Larson had five digs, McCreadie had eight kills, an ace and three digs, Carr had 16 kills, two aces, 15 digs and a block, Smith had two kills, 28 assists, three aces, and 11 digs, and Brooke Covello had an ace.

Mount Si is now 9-1 in league, 12-3 overall.

Next, Mount Si goes onto KingCo League matches starting today versus Interlake, Tuesday at Bellevue, and Thursday versus Mercer Island.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, the varsity squad heads to the Mount Baker Tournament.
