Umibushi Self-Defense Academy instructor Jim Curtis is seeking competitors and co-sponsors for a martial arts expo honoring the memory of Marine LCpl. Eric Ward, a Mount Si graduate killed in the line of duty one year ago in Afghanistan.
The LCpl Eric Ward Memorial Tournament is planned for 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Mount Si High School. Proceeds benefit for the Wounded Warriors Project, which provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life.
