Umibushi Self-Defense Academy instructor Jim Curtis is seeking competitors and co-sponsors for a martial arts expo honoring Marine LCpl. Eric Ward, a Mount Si graduate  killed in the line of duty one year ago in Afghanistan.

The LCpl. Eric Ward Memorial Tournament is planned for early May at Mount Si High School. Proceeds benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, which provides programs and services to severely injured soldiers during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life.

To learn more or take part, contact Curtis at (206) 422-8143 or e-mail umibushi@yahoo.com
