State rank, honors for Purple Thunder soccer team

The U-13 Purple Thunder girls soccer team are district 2 champions and the number-four team after advancing through the state finals this season. Purple Thunder played through a snowstorm to win the District 2 championships in the Recreational Cup. This is the second year that the team, part of the Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association, went undefeated in regular season play. They are coached by Chris Simonson, Kristin Flatness and Kamran Mostofi. All but two of the players attend Snoqualmie Middle School, and most are honor students and multi-sport athletes.
