University of Portland’s Tanner Riley is guarded by Scott Suggs during the Monday, Dec. 13, game at the University of Washington, won by the Huskies, 94-72.

Riley, a freshman for the Pilots, is a 2010 Mount Si High School graduate. He saw limited action against Washington, but had much success in the Athletes in Action Classic tournament, which opened the season for Portland. Riley was selected on the All-Tournament Team, joining teammate seniors Jared Stohl and Luke Sikma (son of Seattle Sonic great Jack Sikma).

Riley helped his team win the tournament by scoring 14 points with five assists in an 80-60 win against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and then the next day had a team high 15 points in a 75-60 victory over University of California-Davis.
