Stayin’ alive with Relay for Life

Expect lots of tears — good tears — at this weekend’s Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life.

Expect lots of tears — good tears — at this weekend’s Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life.

Happening Saturday and Sunday at Centennial Fields, Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Teams of walkers lap the track while raising funds for cancer research. They also remember loved ones who have fallen to the disease, and bond to help those now fighting cancer make it through.

I’ve been to several of these events over the years, and can say that Relay for Life is one of the most touching events to happen in a community.

I encourage anyone whose life has been touched by cancer to attend, cheer on the walkers and support local teams. It’s an inspiring cause, and a lot of fun. You’ll see smiles through the tears. Find out all about it at snovalleyrelay.org
