New road to the Ridge?

Those living in downtown Snoqualmie may be interested to know that an interconnecting road between Snoqualmie Ridge and town is being proposed.

This action would renege on a previous condition which was made when the huge subdivision was first being proposed. It was agreed that the large volume of traffic generated would be best handled by Snoqualmie Ridge Parkway connecting with the State Highway 202 and State Highway 18.

This decision was also based in honoring Snoqualmie's rural character and having less impact on downtown citizens. The city council needs to hear from the people downtown on how this will impact you.

The city council also needs to consider any possible conflicts of interest by any members of the planning commission in regard to land holdings in the so called “Snoqualmie Hills Planning Area”—  a term some of us resent!

Public hearings are 7 p.m. June 14 and 18 in City Hall.
