Regarding your article, “Explore Local Shelter Solution,” (editorial, Jan. 20), excellent article, it really brings to a light a real problem with some real solutions. Thank you for pointing out that most pet problems start with people — we are ultimately responsible for their well-being — and also for highlighting how important it is to spay or neuter.

Snoqualmie Police Chief Schaffer has hit the nail on the head regarding partnering. My husband and I have taken in stray or abandoned animals we come across in the Valley and raise them as our pets. It is refreshing to know that there are folks out there that care about our four-legged friends!
