As a Boy Scout from Troop 425, our troop tends to use the trails on Mount Si and Little Si because they are the closest trails to where we live. They are convenient, challenging, and good for five-mile hikes and training for long backpacking trips. The trails are almost always snow-free, and can be used year-round. There is also a fantastic view of upper Snoqulamie Valley from the top of Little Si. We’ve met people that live close by, and others from out of the country. Instead of closing these trails, maybe a better solution is to pay a small fee to hike up Little Si or Mount Si to offset the costs of servicing the facilities.
