I painted you at Fall City Days
Hello, Fall City Days friends and community! I had so much fun painting Fall City Days. But didn’t we all have fun that day? It was very exciting to me. I now have new faces of people who might not have had a chance to be painted into a modern work.
I loved the heroics of the young people who came forward to be painted, and the elegant pose of the two little girls eating popcorn as their father watched. There was the lovely woman dancing freely as the musicians played, and I spotted a black lab going by.
Toward the end of the day, a woman insisted I paint her little dog into the work. She even pointed out a spot where I could put her. As her family watched, I began. She had no idea I was completely exhausted after standing to paint for nine hours straight. As usual, I had neglected to take a break or eat. But as I began to look, I fell in love with painting her little dog!
I do work in series, and this work will become a part of my community works. I’ve painted so many different events. I write and document each event where I paint. I like to have the paintings signed by the participants. My painting of your Fall City Days will be included in my personal archive with stories about the day.
Thank you all for your contributions!
Picasso once said, “Painting is a great way to make a diary!” See you again sometime.
