Letters | Neighbors step up for Fall City pantry

The Fall City Community Food Pantry was one of the local food banks that benefited from the May 11 “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive. We are extremely grateful for the 625 pounds of food collected and delivered by the Fall City Post Office staff.

As demand on the Food Pantry resources continues to grow every year, the local community food drives become more and more important; this past year we assisted over 350 families residing in the Snoqualmie Valley communities. This summer, the food pantry will be initiating a program that will provide extra nutritional foods and snacks for families with school age children. Hopefully this extra distribution will help the fill gap left by the school lunch program during the summer break.

The Food Pantry again would like to thank the Fall City Post Office staff, especially the letter carriers, including Ralph Westermann, who coordinates the food drive, for their effort in collecting the food donations in addition to their responsibility of delivering the mail. Also, thank you to the residents of the Fall City community for their generosity.
