Letters | Caroline Loudenback goes the extra mile to visit, volunteer in schools
As a North Bend resident, I have been particularly observant of North Bend resident Caroline Loudenback’s service as a director on the Snoqualmie Valley School District board.
Many in our community know that I have supported the election of her replacement on the school board, but I am writing today to give recognition where it’s due for Caroline.
Loudenback is the only incumbent director that I have observed investing the unusual amount of extra unpaid time that I feel is required of a school board director, by visiting and volunteering in our schools and discussing issues with teachers, kids, and community members. For that, I want to commend her.
As of my writing, the November election has not yet been certified, but it is clear that we have two new directors on the SVSD board, one of whom is replacing Caroline Loundenback (Geoff Doy). Despite her leaving the school board in January, my hope is that Caroline will continue joining the many of us in our community who volunteer time for kids and our schools.
If you see her doing that, be sure to thank her for her volunteer service, as “doers” are more valuable to us than those who limit their school reform to just complaining.
