Letter | Is a new City Hall more important than honoring veterans?

A few years ago the North Bend City Council put a proposed North Bend veterans memorial on hold, claiming there was a lack of funds.

A few years ago the North Bend City Council put a proposed North Bend veterans memorial on hold, claiming there was a lack of funds.

In the Aug. 31 Snoqualmie Valley Record, a front page article indicates this same city council just approved paying out $40,000 so two firms can draw up plans for a new $5,000,000 North Bend City Hall.

Since the city of North Bend still does not have a veterans memorial to honor all of the veterans residing in our city, it’s my opinion that all of these council members believe a nice, new place to sit their rumps is more important than all of us veterans, both young and old, who have put our lives on the line for our fellow Americans.
