An institutional school board member leaves

We may not have always agreed on things but one thing I could count on, if I wrote an editorial about anything to do with schools, Rick Krona would give me a call.

Few in this community share the passion for our local schools that Rick has had over the years. He is also a product of our local school system and his roots are deeply entrenched in the community. He helped to guide the school district through technological changes and, at the same time, kept a keen business sense during contract negotiations.

Of course he has had his detractors over the years, but anyone that speaks their mind has detractors. It's the quiet change agents that make me nervous.

Nobody can question Rick's desire to see our schools get better and for that we salute you, Rick Krona, for many years of service to our schools. The new school board members will have big shoes to fill in the footsteps of Rick Krona.
