Recently I attended the regular monthly meeting of the board of

commissioners of the King County Public Hospital District No. 4 (KCPHD#4)

to congratulate them in issuing bonds to pay off the debt owed to

Evergreen Hospital (KCPHD#2) and to the bank.

This endeavor did not raise our taxes but will allow the

commissioners to enter a more local negotiation as they seek to engage new

opportunities to lease out the building for hospital services once again in

our Valley.

I sincerely encourage the new residents to get involved with the

district activities. There are several support groups out there, but we can

always use new energy and fresh ideas.

The board of commissioners meets the fourth Monday of the month

at 6:30 p.m. at the hospital. You may also call Jeff Lyle, district

superintendent, at (425) 831-2363 for more information.
