To the families of Abby and Carly:

May you find comfort in knowing that so many people

in the Valley mourn your loss. So many who know them well,

or only briefly, or not at all share your grief, as if by feeling this

vicarious pain en masse we can all ease your pain a little.

My daughters knew them through school; they played

soccer together, and the grief they were in is palpable. The

sorrow my husband and I feel as parents of teen-age girls, I express to you.

So many people cry for you, who you don't even know.

May you find strength in the knowledge that we are all sending

you support in our thoughts and prayers.
