On Nov. 6, the citizens of Fall City have two ballot measures that are very important to them. Fire Protection District 27 Proposition 1 is the expansion and upgrade of the fire hall. This will provide much needed office space and living quarters (for future 24-hour staffing). At this time, our career employees provide daytime coverage and the volunteers provide nighttime coverage.

The second ballot measure is the King County EMS levy (Medic One). This ballot measure is a renewable measure, voted on every six years. King County EMS provides fire departments like ours with training and paramedic services that are the best in the country. Both ballot measures are titled "Proposition 1." Some citizens might think that these two measures are the same. They are not. Fire Protection District 27 Proposition 1 is just for Fall City. The taxes collected will only be used for the expansion of the fire hall building. The Medic One levy is county wide and is voted on by all of King County. It is called King County Proposition 1.

When you go to the polls, please remember that both of these ballot measures are very important. Since 1946 our fire department has served our community. Please vote "yes" on Nov. 6 for these two important measures.
