McKiernan needs to get it right

I feel compelled to follow up on Larry Phillips' letter to the editor dated Feb. 18. Phillips, a King County Metropolitan Council member, points out Jim McKiernan's errors and omissions in one of his recent editorials concerning King County. Phillips ends his letter by writing, "I hope the Snoqualmie Valley Record will assist in getting out much needed, accurate information to your readers."

Thank you Mr. Phillips for noting something that has bothered many Valley Record readers for some time now: McKiernan's editorials frequently are sprinkled with inaccuracies and/or leave out important facts. The Snoqualmie Valley deserves better.

As a journalist and general manager of our only local newspaper, McKiernan must understand that he has a responsibility to get his facts straight. We appreciate controversial editorials, but not when they contain misinformation.

We all look forward to Mr. McKiernan getting accurate information to his readers.
