Fireworks' proceeds help community

Supporting one's community is the obligation of all residents in a community. Most of us try to fulfill that obligation at one time or another. This July Fourth you have the opportunity to help your community by purchasing your supply of fireworks from the Kiwanis stand in Snoqualmie. Your community fireworks stand will be conveniently located at the corner of Snoqualmie Parkway and State Route 202. All proceeds will go to the community through your local Kiwanis Club.

The Kiwanis have been supporting local communities since 1915 and continue to be a driving force in our area today. With the money we raise we support the children of Snoqualmie Valley with programs recognizing good citizenship; the Bring Up Grades (BUG) program; anti-drug abuse education and scholarships. We are also involved with our special-needs population by installing mobility ramps, purchasing wheelchairs, etc., and sponsoring Aktion Clubs for special-needs adults. There is not room to list all the contributions the Kiwanis make to our local community.

So don't just buy your fireworks anywhere. Feel good about the purchase. Come to the Kiwanis fireworks stand at the corner of Snoqualmie Parkway and State Route 202 in Snoqualmie.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July. Many thanks from the Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis.

PJ Wright
