A tough decision to make
October 3, 2008 · Updated 12:12 AM
Hi, my name is Sophie Lerner and I'm a fifth grader at Snoqualmie Elementary School. A few weeks ago, my mom took me to all three public meetings to meet the candidates who want to be our new superintendent. I thought the candidates did great, and I think it's pretty cool that people who are not on the school board could come to the meetings.
All the candidates had different strengths. Mr. Poss was great at talking in front of people. Dr. Parsons was good at getting the answers to the questions right away. And, Mr. Aune was best with kids. I asked the same question of each candidate, which was, "Why do you want to work in Snoqualmie?" Each candidate had a big, super long answer. I also asked what kinds of children's books they liked to read. Mr. Aune said his favorite book was "The Indian in the Cupboard."
Overall, Mr. Aune was my favorite. But I have to say, it was a hard decision to decide who I thought would be the best person to be in charge of our schools.
