Reader offended by Anderson's statement
October 3, 2008 · Updated 12:12 AM
As my state representative, I expect Glenn Anderson to be honest, compassionate and intelligent. On all three accounts I have to say he has failed me and my district.
Anderson compared bio-tech and stem cell research to the Holocaust committed by the Nazis. If Anderson were honest he would not try to mask his allusions to the Holocaust by saying he was just trying to honor its memory. If Anderson were intelligent, he would know that the vital work being done by people in our hospitals and universities will save infinite lives without ever taking one. If Anderson were compassionate, he would respect the memory of those killed by the Nazis by apologizing for his ill-informed comments.
Since Rep. Anderson has stated he won't apologize, I will. I am sorry he represents me and I apologize to the Jewish community and other groups he offended in my name.
