Look out for one-issue attack ads

We cannot afford to relax thinking problems in the primary are over.

One and one-half million dollars came into our state to fund vicious attack ads, as special interests tried to take over our state Supreme Court. Deliberate lies and distortions of the truth are how they operate.

Luckily, Washington's citizens are smarter than those interests expected. Chief Justice Gerry Alexander and Justice Tom Chambers (from Issaquah) were re-elected. Their races are over.

However, there is one more Supreme Court race to be faced, that of Susan Owens. Just think how vicious the attack ads will be for her. These people who are definitely not for the people of Washington will be even worse than they were for the primary.

Beware, fellow voters. Read those attack ads thoroughly and then continue to be as sharp as you were in the primary.

Don't let one issue-ads affect your judgment.
