Joan C. Smith of Issaquah, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 in Sammamish. She was 84.

Joan was born October 15, 1932 in Fall City to Elmer and Elsie Craig. She was raised in Fall City where she attended local schools; graduating from Mount Si High School in 1950.

Following high school, she worked for Weyerhaeuser and later became the proud mother of two dedicated children; Stephan Smith of Fall City and Karin Smith of Sammamish.

Her working career as a controller spanned nearly three decades with Mowat Construction. She retired in 1998 and eventually moved to Providence Point in Issaquah.

Joan will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who was fiercely loyal and overwhelmingly compassionate. She loved to plan and put on family activities and functions. Spending time with her family was her biggest passion.

In addition to her children, Joan is survived by her brother, Bud, and his wife, Leone, of North Bend; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held at 10am, Monday, August 7, 2017 at Flintoft’s Funeral Home in Issaquah. Private burial will be held at Fall City Cemetery.
