Ed was the oldest son and 3rd of 6 children born to the late William and Johanna Shinner in Snoqualmie, WA. He passed away in Richland, Washington’s Kadlec Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his children and grandchildren shortly after being diagnosed with a life threatening medical condition. He lived in Walla Walla, WA.

After graduating from Mt. Si High School in 1959 he served a tour in the Navy. While stationed in California he met Dianne, who he married and had 4 children together.

He and Dianne lived in many places throughout the US and he worked at many different trades throughout his life. He and Dianne did a lot of traveling throughout the world while they owned and operated Lighthouse Travel when they lived in Milton-Freewater, Oregon.

Ed leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Dianne, Walla Walla, WA, Children Ed (Janice) Shinner Jr., Milton-Freewater, OR, Tim (Janet) Shinner, Lincoln City, OR, Mary (Mike), Olympia, WA, Dan (Rita) Spokane, WA, siblings Kathie Esson, Gainesville, GA, Bobbie Prentice, Santa Ana, CA, Jack (Carol) Shinner, Medford, OR, Eileen (Jack) George, Castle Rock, WA, Dott (Dave) Thayer, Ariel, WA, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on July 15th at 2:00 PM at the Milton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1244 N Elizabeth St., Milton-Freewater, OR.
