Carl Riechman

Carl Riechman

Carl was born September 11, 1942 and passed away on July 4, 2016, at the age of 73. He died at Chaplaincy Hospice Care. He was born in Snohomish, WA and lived his younger life in Carnation, WA. He graduated from Tolt High School in 1960.

Carl drove school buses and worked at Seattle Times Newspaper before joining the Navy and going to Vietnam. On returning home he worked driving logging truck during the summer and plowed snow for the state on I-90 during the winter. He worked 17 years driving truck hauling dry cement and paving on I-90 and I-82 roads from Seattle to Ellensburg to the border of Washington and Oregon. He retired in 1990 do to serious heart problems. 

I would have liked to write this the way he would, he was the joker of the crowd.

Carl was preceded in death by his father Edward Riechman, mother Hilda Sigenthaler Riechman and both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his (Angel) wife Mary of 31 years, daughters Rita Scaplehorn, Tacoma, WA and Sarah (Heath) Howard, Hurricane, UT. He has 5 grandchildren,

4 great grandchildren, 2 Brothers Larry (Sherry) Riechman of Toledo, WA, Joe (Maggie) Riechman, 1 Sister Katherine (Bill) Brigden all of Sequim, WA, and many nieces and

2 nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Carnation, WA at the Senior Center on July 31, 2016, between the hours of 12 and 3 pm.
