Valley radio station adopts new name, Valley Community Broadcasting

Valley 103.1, the low-power FM radio station that launched in Duvall this spring has formally changed its name to Valley Community Broadcasting. The station, which covers Duvall, Carnation and Redmond Ridge, will still go by Valley 103.1, but the new organizational name will reflect the target audience and the geographic coverage for the radio signals.

“The name of Valley Community Broadcasting better reflects our mission to provide content for Duvall, Carnation, and Redmond Ridge,” Stuart Lisk, President of Valley 103.1 said. ” Valley Community Broadcasting includes not just the FM band but streaming as well.”

All materials and Internet information will be changed over the next several days to reflect the new name, and the official nonprofit 501(c)(3) name will also reflect Valley Community Broadcasting.

Valley 103.1 is the fruition of a years-long effort by community members to launch and operate a community based, and community serving radio station. The volunteer run station is developing a variety of shows, both music and informational, to reflect the Snoqualmie Valley residents and their interests while providing a base of adult album alternative music to fill a niche for the popular genre.
