Every snowfall is a good time to remind Valley residents of some basic snow removal and safety information. After last week’s snowstorm and with more snow in the forecast, that time is now.

First and foremost is safety. Remember to drive for the weather conditions, increase your following distance and allow extra time to reach your end goal. Speeds will be slower and remember to accelerate more slowly, too.

Carry the essentials in your car, warm clothes, water/snacks, first aid kit, jumper cables, cellphone charger, flares, and keep your gas tank full.

When you get to where you’re going, try to park your car off the street, to help the snowplows do their jobs, too.
