Special filing period opens next week for uncontested offices, including Fall City Metro Park District seat

King County Elections will hold a special candidate filing period 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, Aug. 2 to 4, for candidates interested in offices that were not filed for following the official May filing week.

Among the offices to be filled by the special filing period are Fall City Metropolitan Park District, Commissioner Position No. 3.

Also open for the special filing period are: Town of Yarrow Point, Council Position No. 1; King County Fire Protection District No. 24, Commissioner Position No. 1; King County Fire Protection District No. 24, Commissioner Position No. 3; King County Fire Protection District No. 31, Commissioner Position No. 3; King County Water District No. 1, Commissioner Position No. 1; King County Water District No. 19, Commissioner Position No. 1; King County Water District No. 45, Commissioner Position No. 1; Ronald Wastewater District, Commissioner Position No. 5; Stevens Pass Sewer District, Commissioner Position No. 1; and King County Airport District, Commissioner Position No. 1.

There are no filing fees for these positions.

The primary election date is Aug. 1 and will not be affected by this special filing period. Ballots have already been mailed for the primary election.

The general election date is Tuesday, Nov. 7. Ballots for this election will be mailed to voters by mid-October.
