Organized and funded by Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, SAIL Instructor Training is a free 14-hour course designed for certified exercise instructors, and healthcare professionals with training in exercise, who wish to integrate the latest evidence and research into exercise classes for older adults.

The training includes PowerPoint presentations, practical demonstrations, and laboratory sessions with seniors. Participants receive a completion certificate that, along with course materials, may be submitted to relevant professional organizations in order to request continuing education credits.

Site directors, activity directors and other interested professionals are welcome and encouraged to attend the introductory first-day session from 8 a.m. to noon.

The program was developed by the Washington State Department of Health with health care professionals at the NorthWest Orthopaedic Institute in Tacoma and the University of Washington, after three years extensive research.
