Police departments begin holiday DUI patrols, statewide

Police departments across the state, including Snoqualmie, started holiday DUI patrols on Thursday, Dec. 15, and will run through Jan. 1, 2017.

The Washington State Traffic Commission (WTSC) funded this program to help reduce crashes can make sure that everyone can spend the holidays with family. With recent increases in traffic deaths because of drivers under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or both, the WTSC funded more patrols in the state to reduce the number these types of accidents.

In King County, 28 police departments will be conducting these extra patrols and have partnered with the King County Target Zero Task Force, a group working to improve safety on Washington’s roads. For more information, visit www.targetzero.com.
