Eastside Fire implements annual burn ban, through Sept. 30

Eastside Fire & Rescue started its annual moratorium on burning June 15. Anyone living within the boundaries of the Eastside Fire and Rescue service areas, including North Bend and Carnation, should be aware of burning restrictions.

A no-fee permit is required for cooking and recreational burning, such as campfires. These fires, provided they use only dry, seasoned wood, and are limited to three feet in diameter and two feet in height, are not subject to the burn ban. Propane, natural gas, and charcoal fires do not require a burn permit.

Recreational fires must be contained in a barbecue pit or fire ring.

Burning to clear land is permanently panned in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties.

Residential burning is banned through Sept. 30 and requires a permit.

Free permits for recreational fires can be ordered online at www.eastsidefire-rescue.org.
