Blotter: Parking lot argument gets heated; shoplifter steals alcohol

Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Snoqualmie-North Bend Police

Saturday, March 18

Suspicious: At 9:29 p.m., a caller told police someone was trying to break into her house on SW 12th Court, North Bend. Officers responded and searched the area but found nothing suspicious.

Sunday, March 19

Vehicle prowl: At 7:56 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle’s lock being damaged. The vehicle had been parked on Raven Avenue SE, Snoqualmie. No suspects were identified.

Monday, March 20

Disturbance: At 12:38 a.m., police received a report of a man refusing to leave the building on the 40000 block of SE North Bend Way, North Bend. The caller informed police the man had been parked illegally for the last day and a half. By the time officers arrived, the man had gone, walking to a nearby restaurant. Officers contacted him there and told him not to return to the building that night.

Traffic offense: At 10:13 a.m., a driver threatening others in a parking lot on the 400 block of E North Bend Way, North Bend, was reported to police. When police arrived they determined the drivers had just made obscene gestures at each other, no crime had occurred.

Suspicious: At 8:01 p.m., police were called to a report of a shoplifter on the 400 block of E North Bend Way, North Bend. A man left a store with a large bag and an employee said he didn’t pay for the items inside. Police contacted the man and took him into custody for stealing food and alcohol.

Tuesday, March 21

Suspicious: At 3:30 a.m., a suspicious white van speeding on the 6000 block of East Crest View Loop SE, Snoqualmie, was reported to police. The driver wore a construction vest. Police determined he was an Amazon Fresh driver.

Drug problem: At 8:09 p.m., a police received a report of a child finding a hypodermic needle on E North Bend Way, North Bend. Police arrived at the scene and safely disposed of the needle.

Wednesday, March 22

Welfare check: At 9:33 p.m., an elderly man who looked to be disoriented walking along the 200 block of Bendigo Boulevard, North Bend, was reported. Officers drove the man back to his home.

Friday, March 24

Suspicious: At 10:24 p.m., a group of teens drinking out of a large clear bottle on the 30000 block of SE Woody Creek Lane, Snoqualmie, were reported to police. The caller said one of the teens had fallen to the ground. When officers arrived, they found one of the teens was severely intoxicated. The subject and her father were transported to a local hospital, where she vomited most of the alcohol out of her system.

Friday, March 24

Medical aid: At 12:38 p.m., Fall City firefighters saw a man in his 50s who was experiencing abdominal pain and lightheadedness. They determined he was suffering from a kidney stone, and transported him to a local hospital for treatment.

Saturday, March 25

Illegal fire: At 8:43 p.m., Fall City firefighters responded at the request of the King County Sheriff to extinguish an illegal campfire that had been set under a bridge near the Snoqualmie River. The fire was extinguished and the individuals on scene were advised of the rules regarding campfires.

Sunday, March 26

Chest pain: At 9:54 p.m., Fall City firefighters were called to assist a 65 year old woman who was experiencing chest pain. Medics from the Bellevue Fire Department were also dispatched. The patient’s pain was determined to be non-cardiac in nature, so the medics were cancelled and the patient elected to have her husband drive her to the hospital.

Tuesday, March 28

Leg pain: At 1:57 p.m., Fall City firefighters responded to the Carnation area for a 69-year-old patient who was experiencing severe leg pain that came on suddenly. The patient was taken to a local hospital via private ambulance.

Home birth: At 2:41 p.m., Fall City firefighters assisted the Snoqualmie Fire Department, Eastside Fire and Rescue, and medics from the Bellevue Fire Department with a home birth that had complications. The mother and newborn baby were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Oxygen system: At 10:51 p.m., Fall City firefighters assisted a patient with his home oxygen system which was malfunctioning. The machine was fixed and oxygen flowed properly.

Wednesday, March 29

Collision: At 6:55 p.m., Fall City Firefighters responded to a single-car accident on SE Redmond-Fall City Road. A patient in her 50s experienced a medical event which caused her to lose control of her vehicle. The car ended up in a ditch on the eastbound lane of the road. The patient was uninjured from the accident, but was experiencing continued medical issues and was taken to a hospital.

Tuesday, March 28

Leaking pipe: At 11:42 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a home on Saint Andrews Ln SE for a report of a leaking pipe at the home’s hot water tank. Crews secured the water to the tank and told the resident to call a plumber.

Fire: At 2:04 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded with other units to smoke in a home on SE 108th Street. The crew arrived to find an active fire, and crews from Eastside Fire & Rescue assisted in extinguishing it.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 16 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 268.
